Black and Blue
with The Fortune Cookie Theatre Company

Helen Iskander and James Cuningham once again teamed up with Fortune Cookie Theatre Company to create a newly devised theatre piece called Black and Blue. Previous collaborations between Fresco Theatre and Sylvaine Strike include Baobabs Don’t Grow Here and Fortunately.

Devised by the directors and the two performers; Sylvaine Strike and Danny-Boy Mooi, Black and Blue tells the simple story of love, loss, hope and renewal.

Black and Blue has played to full houses at The National Arts Festival in Grahamstown 2004, The Hilton Festival 2004,The Oude Libertas Theatre, Stellanbosch and The Baxter Theatre, Cape Town 2005. It will play at The Liberty Theatre on the Square, Johannesburg from the 22nd March.

Black and Blue was nominated for 3 South African Naledi Awards: Best Cutting-Edge Production; Best Comic Actress – Sylvaine Strike; Best Supporting Actro – Danny-Boy Mooi. Sylvaine won the award for best Comic Actress.
